![]() | Curriculum and Instruction Hardin-Jefferson Independent School District is a partnership of a highly qualified teaching staff, concerned parents, a supportive community, and outstanding students. Our administrative staff oversees the comprehensive curriculum and is responsible for ensuring that classroom instruction offers the very best programs to our students. Beginning at the elementary level and continuing through to the high school, the curriculum emphasizes core academic classes, college-level courses, special education options, and a variety of enrichment opportunities. The District's curriculum standards exceed the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards established by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The TEKS specify what skills and concepts students should know and be able to demonstrate at each grade level. Our teachers use a variety of research-based instructional materials, technology, an aligned curriculum, innovative and creative approaches to prepare our students to positively impact our communities. |
